Cuyahoga County Public Library - Beachwood Library

CBLH Design assisted Cuyahoga County Public Library with the renovation of the Beachwood Branch.

In addition to the complete renovation of the building, the project also included relocating the front entrance and adding a drive-up service window. The new entrance now located at the north end of the building, was relocated to be adjacent to parking for convenience and safety. The existing entry vestibule was then transformed into a conference room.

The renovation included reworking the adult, children’s and computer areas. The project also included relocating teens and new books. This reworking allowed the teen area to be closed off for improved noise control. The design concept of a glass wall between the play area and the story time room allows for passive observation of both areas for parents.

In an effort to consolidate and maximize efficiency, one service point collocated at the teen’s and children’s areas was designed to serve those respected areas. An additional service point for information, adult and computers was built in the center of the building.

Lastly, the design allows for additional seating throughout the library.
