Twinsburg Public Library
Twinsburg, Ohio
The new Twinsburg Library was designed to replace an existing library that was not able to expand due to site constraints. CBLH Design, Inc., designed the new library to service a population of 30,000 residents and to accommodate over 85,000 books with additional space for a growing collection of recordings and periodicals. Separate areas are available for different age and interest groups, meeting, lounge and classroom spaces, as well as administrative offices, public service and historical exhibits. The masonry walls, stone details, roof and window forms are merged to blend and compliment the Western Reserve character of prominent buildings in Twinsburg and yet reflect an updated, contemporary stylization for the growing community.
In 2003, a 15,286 square foot addition was added to accommodate expanded services of the library. A new children's room, teen crossing, meeting rooms and administrative offices were part of this project. Again, using the styling of the existing building allowed for a seamless addition.
