Cuyahoga County Public Library
Parma-South Branch

With annual circulation approaching one million volumes, Parma-South was the largest library in the Cuyahoga County Public Library system.  As a result, this region must provide to its patrons the most efficient delivery of services possible.

CBLH Design, Inc., was commissioned to design the renovation of this library which focused on the      development of a program which optimized the available space within the existing structure.  The decentralized building foot-print, originally designed as a school, posed numerous challenges with respect to wayfinding and recognition of different departments and their inter-relationships.  The use of various materials and bold geometric statements enable staff and patrons to identify and work within the different areas of this facility.
