Veterans Affairs Medical Center
Emergency Dept. Expansion
Cleveland, Ohio
CBLH Design is currently designing the addition to the Ambulatory Care Center. This project will interface with the existing building, originally designed by CBLH Design. The addition will house the new Emergency Department and Specialty Care Clinic. The former Emergency Department in the existing building will be renovated in a second phase for other hospital functions.
In addition to the Emergency Department, this 18,000 square foot addition will accommodate Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran services and the Women’s Health Clinic.
Exterior improvements are also proposed to allow for an ambulance/ambulette drop-off canopy and for enhanced traffic flow around the surrounding area.
This project is designed to be phased to allow for the building to be occupied during construction. Although it is not seeking LEED Certification, it is being designed with sustainable strategies and tracking with the goal of LEED Silver.
