Classroom Renovations
Cleveland, Ohio
CBLH Design, Inc., was asked to renovate three floors of Cleveland State University's Main Classroom Building. The project was divided into two phases to accommodate the spring and fall semester class schedules. Phase IIA, awarded to CBLH Design, started during the summer of 2000 and included the renovation of first floor auditoriums with the addition of a new glass enclosed lobby at the north end.
All auditoriums were refinished including new fixed seating, overhead projectors, power operated projection screens and rough-ins for power and data at each seat. New air handling units were installed to replace the existing units that served the first floor.
Also in Phase IIA was a third floor classroom, corridor and lounge renovations. Some of the rooms had their respective entries modified to provide handicap accessibility. Typical classrooms received new data connections, monitors, power operated projection screens, indirect lighting and finishes. Phase IIB included classroom renovations on the fourth floor only. The classrooms received a similar level of refinement as the work on the third floor.
