Ritter Public Library
Addition and Renovations

The design team at CBLH has joined together with the staff and leadership of Ritter Public Library to successfully incorporate many design elements that significantly reduce or eliminate the building's environmental footprint while providing an inviting place for library users. A building assessment and program of service was developed to assist the Library in educating the community about its vision. The result was the successful passage of a bond issue for the renovation and expansion of the existing building utilizing sustainable design principles.
The project is an 18,000 square foot, 2-story addition that will complement the historic existing federal-style building, while being contemporary and energy efficient.
CBLH Design implemented state-of-the-art strategies for water savings, energy efficiency and indoor environmental quality. The library is currently seeking Gold Level LEED certification making it one of the "Greenest" libraries in the State of Ohio.
